OUR HISTORY
The Club was originally founded in 1992 by a group of mothers interested in fostering support in parenting and a sense of community for women and their children. The group is a non-profit organization funded by annual dues and fundraisers. Members have always been encouraged to take what they need and give what they can, which provides a wonderful opportunity to share talents and skills.
The following is a partial list of services and activities available to our members:
PLAYGROUPS
Many members join the Club for this benefit only. Most playgroups are small groups of mothers and children organized by similar ages and usually meet weekly. Playgroups offer a great opportunity for moms and kids to socialize and develop supportive friendships.
SOCIAL EVENTS
These events are planned with the whole family in mind. Events have included Easter picnic and Easter egg hunt, Halloween parties, Winter Holiday parties with Santa Claus and Summer picnics.
NEWSLETTERS
These are sent out to all members at the beginning of each month. They cover Club business, upcoming events, topics pertinent to parenting, children, craft/activity ideas. All members are welcome and encouraged to present submissions for the newsletter. You can also opt out of
receiving the monthly newsletter in hard copy and instead receive the e-version of it. Contact the Newsletter distribution coordinator to arrange this 'green' option!
IN-A-PINCH
This service is designed to help expecting moms, moms with newborns, and moms and their families in need of any help such as running errands, meals, babysitting, etc.
EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES
These field trips help teach our children about the world around them. Past themes have included Safety (Fire & Police stations); Factory tours (Jelly Belly, Cheese factory, stickers); Trial lessons (gymnastics, dance, music); Transportation (airport, Train Town); Water Fun (Water slides, Russian River); Fall Harvest Activities and more!
GENERAL MEETINGS
The Club meets as a group on a quarterly basis as advertised in the RPCMC newsletter. The meetings feature educational speakers and programs, socializing, and general Club business. Childcare is available for a small fee and babes in arms are welcome. Snacks are provided by the playgroups on a rotational basis. Doors are open at 6:45pm to sign in and socialize.
